Nougat is a popular ingredient in many candies. You’ve probably heard it pitched a thousand times during numerous chocolate bar commercials as one of the delicious ingredients. Below are several popular candies that have nougat, many of which you have probably eaten at least once. What Candy Bars Have Nougat?
America’s number one selling candy bar features nougat on its lower layer. This nougat is topped with caramel and salted peanuts (approximate 28 in a full-size bar). If you love nougat, 3 Musketeers might be one of your top choices for a chocolate bar. It is completely made with nougat except for the outside layer of chocolate. The nougat is made with egg whites and sugar syrup as it’s base ingredients.
A Milky Way contains a layer of caramel that sits on a layer of nougat. These two layers are covered with milk chocolate. Milky Way is one of the original candy bars of the giant candy manufacturer Mars Inc. It was introduced in the United States in 1924. Milky Way’s are a different candy bar outside of America. Baby Ruth is manufactured by the Ferrara Candy Company and was first released in 1921. Its milk chocolate coating covers peanuts, caramel, and nougat. The candy bar was reportedly named after President Grover Cleveland’s daughter, Ruth, and not the Yankee Hall of Fame baseball player. However, Babe Ruth was in his prime when the candy launched and Cleveland’s daughter had been dead for many years. Some people believe that the candy bar was named Baby Ruth to capitalize off the baseball player’s name without having to pay him royalties.
Charleston Chews come in flavors of chocolate, strawberry, and vanilla. They feature a chewy nougat center that is surrounded by chocolate. This candy provides evidence that not all nougats are created the same.
Reese’s Fast Break
A Fast Break has a thin layer of nougat which is topped with a generous amount of peanut butter. The nougat and peanut butter are covered with milk chocolate. This candy bar was released by The Hershey Company in 2001.
This candy is over 100 years old and is made in Switzerland. The original recipe included the ingredients of milk chocolate, almonds, honey, and nougat. This hasn’t changed much since the early 1900s. The modern-day Toblerone is made with Swiss milk chocolate, honey, and almond nougat.
The Mars bar was originally produced in 1932 England by Forrest Mars Sr. The modern candy bar is similar to a Milky Way with a milk chocolate coating over a layer of caramel and nougat.
Zero is a candy bar brand made by Hershey that has been produced since 1920. The outer layer of the bar is made of white chocolate. The interior of a Zero is contains peanut, caramel, and almond nougat.

This candy is a combination of chewy nougat with pieces of jelly beans inside the nougat.
