Goldbears

Goldbears candy refers to Haribo Goldbears, which are gummy bear-shaped candies made by the German confectionery company Haribo. These colorful and fruity-flavored gummy candies are one of the most popular gummy bear brands in the world.

In fact, they were the first gummy bears in the world, according to Smithsonian Magazine. The candy dates back to the 1920s when Hans Riegal Sr. invented them. Parts of his first, last name, and hometown of Bonn make up the company name, “Haribo”.

Goldbears come in a variety of fruit flavors including raspberry (red), orange (orange), strawberry (green), pineapple (a white foggy color), and lemon (yellow). They are known for their chewy texture and sweet, fruity taste.

Goobers

These bite-sized treats consist of roasted peanuts coated in a layer of milk chocolate. Goobers are a popular movie theater snack and are commonly available in concession stands and in the candy aisle of supermarkets.

The Blumenthal Chocolate Company located in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania first brought us Goobers candy in 1925. They also invented Raisinets and Sno-Caps. Nestlé purchased Blumenthal in 1984 and still makes the candy today.

The Goo Goo Cluster was invented in Nashville at the Standard Candy Company in 1912. It is credited for being the first candy that contained more than one principal ingredient, according to the candy’s website.

The Original is made with peanuts, caramel, and marshmallow nougat that is all enclosed in milk chocolate. They look somewhat similar to a Little Debbie Star Crunch if you ask us. Other flavors spawned from Original include Peanut Butter and Pecan flavors.
