Apple Jacks is a brand of cereal made by Kellogg’s. An MIT college intern at Kellogg’s named William Thilly invented the cereal in 1965. It is made with sweetened orange and green O’s with the addition of marshmallows. Around Halloween, Apple Jacks releases Limited Edition Apple Jacks with Spooky Marshmallows made with bat, ghost, and mummy-shaped marshmallows.

Marshmallow Cocoa Pebbles is a relatively new creation from Post. It contains the familiar Cocoa Pebbles rice cereal with the addition of cocoa marshmallows. The marshmallows help turn the milk into chocolatey goodness that can be enjoyed at the end of your breakfast.


Elf

Elf cereal is sweetened corn puffs (like Kix) with marshmallows. It is also flavored with maple syrup. The 2021 version of this cereal contained marshmallows shaped in food items that Buddy would enjoy like candy, candy canes, candy corn, and syrup. We hope General Mills keeps bringing this cereal back each Christmas season because it is one of our favorite cereals with marshmallows.

Kellogg’s Froot Loops is one of the most popular and recognized cereal brands in the United States. Froot Loops with Marshmallows is essentially the classic fruity cereal rings with the addition of colorful marshmallows. The marshmallow shapes are Fruity Flowers, Cool Crystals, Swirly Stones, and Toucan Sam (the Froot Loops mascot). The shapes are “Marshmallow Discoveries” that can be found in the fictitious Froot Loops World.

This cereal is Frosted Flakes with the addition of marshmallows. The marshmallow shapes consist of Power Paws, Tony’s Head, Tony’s Scarf, and Sweet Swirls. The cereal first hit store shelves in April 2020.

Frosted Flakes With Marshmallows is not a new concept. Kellogg’s used to make Frosted Flakes with Marshmallows, however, the marshmallows were pure white and not the fun colors you see in the latest version.

Marshmallow Fruity Pebbles feature fruit-shaped marshmallows inside classic Fruity Pebbles cereal. The six marshmallow shapes are orange, watermelon, pineapple, blue raspberry, banana, and strawberry. This sweetened rice cereal is gluten-free. It contains natural and artificial fruit flavors.

Lucky Charms

Lucky Charms is undoubtedly the top cereal with marshmallows in the United States. It was introduced by General Mills in 1964. Lucky the Leprechaun mascot has been associated with this cereal since the beginning.

The original Lucky Charms had only four bite-sized marshmallow shapes: green clovers, orange stars, pink hearts, and yellow moons. The current lineup of marshmallows includes hearts, shooting stars, horseshoes, clovers, blue moons, unicorns, rainbows, and red balloons.

Today, Lucky Charms makes a few varieties of its cereal:

This cereal is pirate-themed so the oats and marshmallows are shaped like things you’d see in the sea such as anchors, gems, and pirates. In addition to original Marshmallow Mateys, this cereal is also made with chocolate flavor cereal.


Monster Cereals

Monster cereals hit store shelves during the fall each year. The cereal was first produced in 1971 as Count Chocula and Franken Berry. The following year Boo Berry was released making it the first blueberry-flavor cereal to the market. Other variations include Frute Brute which was introduced in 1974 (now retired), Fruity Yummy Mummy (now retired), and Monster Mash to celebrate the cereal’s 50th anniversary (pictured above).

Peeps is described as being marshmallow flavored cereal with marshmallows. The picture above shows white marshmallows but our local Target sells them with colored chick and bunny marshmallows. This cereal is limited edition so it might be difficult to find outside of the spring/Easter.


S’mores

Post S’mores features balls of chocolate, Honey Maid graham crackers, and sweet marshmallows. It has all the elements of real s’mores except without the gooey mess. This is likely the closest you will get to s’mores in a bowl since Honey Maid is the premier brand of graham crackers in the U.S. and commonly used around the campfire to make real s’mores.

Smorz

Kellogg’s Smorz is a crunchy graham cereal that is surrounded by a chocolate coating. Of course, you can’t make real s’mores without marshmallows so naturally, Kellogg’s includes a healthy portion of marshmallows in each box.


Space Jam

Space Jam cereal is limited edition so it potentially may not be available when you go to buy it. Nevertheless, it’s a sweetened corn cereal in berry flavor with marshmallows shaped to look like basketballs.


Wendy’s Frosty Cereal
