Mrs. Dash & Natural Glutamate
Most people do not realize that there is man-made Monosodium Glutamate (MSG) and also glutamate found naturally in some foods. There is no guarantee that Mrs. Dash is free of glutamate that comes from natural sources.
In fact, tomatoes are food that is known to contain glutamate. Tomatoes are used as ingredients in several products listed above including Original Mrs. Dash, Extra Spicy, Spicy Jalapeno, Steak Grilling Blend, Table Blend, and Tomato Basil Garlic.
The body treats natural glutamate the same as added MSG. Therefore, you may wish to become familiar with natural sources of glutamate as well as added MSG products if you are sensitive to it. Some foods that are known to have natural glutamate are cheeses, soy sauce, mushrooms, tomatoes, and anchovies.
