Do Cracker Jacks Have Peanuts?

Cracker Jacks have peanuts. The front of the packing indicates that they consist of “Caramel Coated Popcorn & Peanuts”.

The ingredients of Original Cracker Jack at the time of these article were sugar, corn syrup, popcorn, peanuts, molasses, salt, corn and/or soybean oil, and soy lecithin.

Don’t be alarmed if you open up a bag of Cracker Jacks and don’t initially see peanuts. It is common for the peanuts to fall to the bottom of the packaging while the lighter caramel popcorn stays at the top.

Be aware that there aren’t many peanuts in Cracker Jacks. The peanut lovers out there shouldn’t buy Cracker Jacks expecting to enjoy a plethora of peanuts alongside the caramel popcorn. Let us explain….

How Many Peanuts In Cracker Jacks?

We took the below picture of the contents in a 1-1/4 ounce ( 35.4 g) bag. There were about 50 pieces of popcorn in it with only 4 whole peanuts and a sticker prize. Yes, it’s okay to feel cheated if you enjoy the peanut portion of this caramel popcorn brand!

Cracker Jack Nothing But Nuts

Around the year 2001, Cracker Jack released Nothing But Nuts. They were available in Original and Butter Toffee (pictured below) flavors. As their names imply, these Cracker Jack products featured no popcorn and just the peanuts of their respective flavors.

These were interesting but we’d be shocked if Cracker Jack actually brought them back. I guess we can dream!
