It is one of our favorite lemonade brands because it is made with only filtered water, lemon juice, cane sugar, and natural flavors. In other words, simple ingredients are used, which fits this lemonade’s name. The ingredients are not genetically engineered and the lemonade is not from concentrate.
The brand is owned by The Coco-Cola Company and was started in 2001 by Minute Maid. Minute Maid has been owned by Coca-Cola since 1960.
Simply produces six varieties of lemonade: Original Lemonade, Lemonade with Raspberry, Lemonade with Blueberry, Lemonade with Strawberry, Light Lemonade, Light Lemonade with Raspberry. Mikaila is the 16-year-old founder of this Austin based lemonade brand. She began studying bees after getting stung twice in one week. She eventually learned the benefits of these sometimes pesky pests. She appeared on ABC’s Shark Tank when she was 9-years-old and landed a deal with investor Daymond John that helped further the success of her business. As its popularity grew, the company changed the lemonade’s name to Calypso in 2000. Calypso focuses on using real lemons and real sugar in its drinks.
